As the Senior Product Engineer, Growth & Lifecycle Infrastructure, you will own the ground-up build of PLG growth and lifecycle infrastructure for our music and audio products — greenfield across web, desktop, plugin, and mobile. You'll choose the stack, design the event model, wire the integrations, and run the system. The output is a measurable, attributable funnel from anonymous visitor to paying customer to expanded account. This role sits at the intersection of growth marketing, product lifecycle, and community-driven PLG — the systems, how they live inside the product, and how they drive real conversion.

What you'll do…

  • Select and own the stack for the Music & Audio vertical: CDP, product analytics, lifecycle/messaging, experimentation, warehouse, reverse-ETL, and entitlements — including writing defensible recommendations with cost model and tradeoffs
  • Design event taxonomy with consistent schema and identity resolution across anonymous → free → paid → multi-device
  • Build and attribute the full growth funnel across paid, organic, partner, and in-product virality
  • Architect in-app PLG motion: viral loops, referral mechanics, upgrade prompts, and sharing hooks
  • Define and execute lifecycle marketing strategy: segmentation, behavioral triggers, and messaging cadences across activation, habit, and expansion
  • Ship free-to-paid logic: trial mechanics, paywalls, in-app messaging, and entitlement checks across web and native runtimes
  • Build onboarding, churn-risk, reactivation, and win-back sequences
  • Instrument A/B experimentation with exposure logging and statistical guardrails
  • Own the growth dashboard: activation, conversion, ARPU, LTV, retention cohorts, and expansion rate

What you'll bring…

  • 6+ years of end-to-end ownership of product or growth infrastructure inside a B2C or PLG B2B company
  • Deep expertise in growth marketing and product lifecycle marketing — you walk in knowing how to implement it, not just what it is
  • Hands-on production experience across the modern martech stack: CDPs, product analytics, lifecycle/messaging, billing, reverse-ETL, and transformation layer
  • Proven ability to ship in-app PLG mechanics where the product itself drives growth
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and SQL
  • Fluency with AI-augmented development tools in daily workflow (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent)
  • Experience building event taxonomies that hold up without schema drift
  • A history of shipping paywall and entitlement logic in production where revenue depended on it
  • Comfort operating without a product manager: setting milestones, owning the schedule, and escalating when needed

Not dealbreakers, but great if you had…

  • Experience with B2C subscriptions in creative tools, music, or design
  • Exposure to music or creative-platform go-to-market motions
  • Open-source contributions to data tooling
  • Experience as the first PLG/growth engineer at a company
  • A track record of building in public: Product Hunt, YC network, or active presence on X or Reddit

What success looks like…

  • Day 30: Stack chosen and approved, contracts signed, identity resolution working in development, event taxonomy v1 drafted
  • Day 60: Full event taxonomy live across primary surfaces, first lifecycle sequence in production, baseline dashboard up
  • Day 90: Paywall and entitlement logic in production, attribution closing the loop on at least one paid channel
  • Day 120: Experimentation framework in active use, first growth experiment results read out to leadership
