Role Summary

Solutions Operations Manager, Singapore Β· Singapore

As Mistral AI's first dedicated Solutions Operations hire in Singapore, you will be the operational backbone of our APAC Solutions team and the critical bridge between our Singapore office and global headquarters in Paris.

This is a uniquely broad role combining two functions that sit in separate roles at HQ: revenue operations (how the Solutions team goes to market, delivers, and measures impact) and people operations (how the team is staffed, grown, and deployed against customer needs). In Singapore, you will own both.

Your Solutions team is composed of AI Deployment Strategists, Applied AI Engineers, and Infrastructure Solution Architects who design, deploy, and optimize AI solutions for Mistral's most strategic enterprise and government customers in Singapore and the broader APAC region. Your mission is to make this team faster, sharper, and more effective - while ensuring that every process, tool, and framework developed at HQ is meaningfully adapted to the Singapore and APAC context.

This is a high-impact, hands-on position at the intersection of strategy, operations, and execution. You will work directly with Singapore Solutions leadership and maintain a close working relationship with the global Solutions Ops team in Paris.

What You Will Do

Singapore-HQ Bridge: Localisation & Alignment

This is the defining responsibility of this role - and what makes it unique relative to equivalent positions at HQ.

  • Serve as the primary operational relay between the Singapore Solutions team and global HQ - ensuring that global processes, tools, and frameworks are adopted, adapted, and actually work in a Singapore/APAC context
  • Identify where global playbooks need to be localised: client engagement norms, government procurement cycles, data residency requirements, cultural communication styles, and regional business cadences
  • Proactively surface Singapore-specific insights, blockers, and opportunities to HQ Ops leadership, acting as the voice of the Singapore market in global process design
  • Ensure reporting, tooling, and KPI frameworks developed centrally are implemented in Singapore with appropriate local calibration
  • Coordinate with HQ on headcount planning, cross-regional staffing (e.g. when Singapore projects require EMEA or US expertise), and global delivery initiatives
  • Champion knowledge transfer in both directions: bring global best practices into Singapore, and ensure Singapore's learnings (especially from the government and defence sectors) feed back into global process evolution

Technical Go-to-Market Execution

  • Develop frameworks to standardise how the Singapore Solutions team approaches different customer technical needs, across enterprise, government, statutory boards, and defence/security clients
  • Identify opportunities for experiment-driven improvements in the technical sales and implementation process, with particular attention to Singapore's public-sector procurement timelines and requirements
  • Support the development of professional services offerings and engagement models tailored to the Singapore and APAC market, including fixed-price and outcome-based structures that suit GeBIZ and DSTA contracting norms
  • Help prepare materials for executive reviews highlighting technical implementation successes, challenges, and Singapore-specific strategic recommendations

πŸš€ Delivery Excellence

  • Design and implement scalable frameworks and AI-assisted workflows that help the Singapore Solutions team consistently deliver value to clients, from pre-sales through post-sales
  • Translate successful delivery patterns into repeatable, operationalised processes β€” reducing variability and increasing team efficiency
  • Partner with technical and client-facing teams to identify friction points in delivery and build the systems to fix them
  • Own the rollout of new methodologies in Singapore, ensuring adoption through clear documentation, training, and change management β€” localised where needed
  • Track delivery performance over time and use data to continuously improve how the team operates

Staffing Strategy & Capacity Planning (APAC)

  • Develop and execute a forward-looking staffing strategy for the Singapore and APAC Solutions team, aligned with business forecasts, customer pipeline, and regional hiring plans
  • Build and maintain a prioritisation framework for resource allocation, matching skills to customer needs, balancing across accounts, and flagging gaps to leadership and HQ early
  • Accelerate time-to-value by minimising time-to-staff through efficient skills-matching systems and onboarding processes adapted to Singapore's talent market
  • Optimise the full Mistraler lifecycle in Singapore : from onboarding through project allocation, ensuring seamless transitions and maximum productivity
  • Act as a strategic partner to Singapore Solutions leadership on organisational design, role evolution, and capacity planning as the team scales
  • Coordinate with HQ on cross-regional deployment when Singapore projects require specialised expertise from other geographies

Data-Driven Decision Support

  • Identify and operationalise the right metrics to measure Singapore Solutions team impact on customer success, revenue, and staffing efficiency
  • Create and maintain reporting mechanisms for key KPIs: time-to-staff, utilisation rates, delivery success rates, pre-sales conversion, and customer satisfaction
  • Synthesise tangible, strategic recommendations deployable both locally and globally
  • Maintain strong proficiency in the tools used globally (Salesforce, Notion, BI tools) while identifying Singapore-specific data sources and integrations where relevant

🀝 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Product, Revenue Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR, and Legal across geographies to align staffing and delivery capabilities with customer demands and business priorities
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure Singapore Solutions team feedback, especially learnings from government and defence deployments, is incorporated into the product roadmap
  • Support the Singapore Defence & Government Sales Operations function with operational frameworks for tender responses and contract execution

About You

Must-Have

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic operations, revenue operations, staffing/resource management, or chief of staff roles β€” ideally within technical sales, solutions engineering, or professional services environments
  • Proven track record in optimising processes, impacting business KPIs, and aligning resources with business priorities in a fast-scaling organisation
  • Experience working in or with Singapore's enterprise and/or government market, understanding of local business culture, procurement norms, and stakeholder engagement styles
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills β€” you are equally effective working with a Paris-based VP and a Singapore government procurement officer
  • Strong analytical skills, with hands-on experience in Salesforce, BI tools (e.g. Looker, Hex, BigQuery), and data warehouses
  • Exceptional negotiation and diplomacy skills: ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and align competing priorities across geographies
  • Hands-on, execution-focused mindset with a bias for action in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
  • Fluency in English (working language at Mistral globally and in Singapore government contexts)
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in staffing, resource management, or talent deployment in a technical or professional services context
  • Familiarity with AI/ML products and the ability to operate credibly alongside Applied AI Engineers and Deployment Strategists
  • Knowledge of Singapore Government procurement frameworks (GeBIZ, DSTA, WoG structures) β€” particularly valuable given Mistral's growing government and defence footprint
  • Experience building operational processes from scratch in a scaling, founder-led organisation
  • Proficiency in Mandarin β€” a meaningful plus for engagement with bilingual government and enterprise counterparts across Singapore and the wider APAC region
  • Familiarity with Southeast Asian regional dynamics and enterprise AI adoption patterns

What You'll Bring

  • A bridge-builder mentality β€” you instinctively translate between global and local, between strategy and execution, and between technical and business
  • Rigour without rigidity β€” you enforce process discipline while staying adaptive to the realities of a fast-moving startup operating in a complex regulatory environment
  • Genuine curiosity about the Singapore and APAC market and how AI can create strategic value in this specific context
  • The ability to context-switch between high-level strategy conversations with HQ leadership and granular operational execution with the Singapore team
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach β€” you'll work across every function in the company and across time zones
  • Comfort operating as the most senior ops person in the room in Singapore, while remaining deeply connected to and aligned with global HQ

Location

Singapore. On-site presence required β€” relationship-intensive work with government clients, internal team building, and the nature of the HQ relay function all require physical presence.
